Flight of the Conchords

This should deserves more than a post. This show clearly deserves one of my world famous bear hugs. I would completely wrap my supple hands around its warm television show body and rub its back warmly until it felt completely loved and welcomed. If it was lucky (and perhaps drunk enough) I would ask it back to my place where we would get to know each other a little better and perhaps make a few bad decisions. The show is just that good.

It is interesting to me every time a show like this gets big, because the humor is so unlike everything else that Americans would typically find humorous. Flight of the Conchords features some what of a dry, much calmer humor then the typical Chris Rock, Will Ferrell or Dane Cook comedy bit society typically glorifies. This type of intellectual humor typically has no merit among dinner table conversations in your ordinary household, however every once in a while we find something of this nature sneaking through.

The main thing I find interesting about Jemaine Clement & Bret McKenzie; the founding duo of the television show is, what made them so interesting that they got their own tv show? The reality is the program turned out wonderfully and I believe it was a smart move. Clearly someone discovered some deep routed potential in these two that the naked eye couldn’t see. But what was it about these particular two that made sense for an entire program? What is it that attracts anyone to any particular comedian to allow them to stand out among the pack of thousands of other struggling comedians across the country? I would be interested in have a discussion on this very topic if anyones interested, please feel free to hit me up.
