So, I think its finally time that I write about Tyler Read. Their brand of pop-rock is so refreshing in 2007 they need to be seen. Mixing the 1980’s top musical acts with todays brand of rock and roll has created a fusion of lust, passion and good old fun. The lyrics are more real than amateur porn and more fun than taking two shots of jack and going to a Disney Land. Its just pretty good rock and roll and I can completely respect that.
With their influences dating into the 1980’s glam metal era, it is easy to misinterpret this type of music as merely cock rock by kids who bought a couple Fallout Boy records, but that is sincerely not the case. The brand of rock and roll is refreshing, highlighting the top musical aspects the 80’s provided overlaying current tones that updates the band into a genre of their own. The musicians in Tyler Read are top notch, these guys know how to play their music rivaling anyone else on the touring circuit.
If these dudes were starting line-ups, I’d have to say Josh Johnson would be Michael Jordan in the early 1990’s when he still wore short shorts, stuck his tongue out and wasn’t all old. Jordan would probably be on point with Scottie Pippen, primarily because he never was as famous as MJ but without his supporting abilities, theres no way Michael would have ever been able to shine. Brent would most likely be akin to Karl Malone - tall and strong, Malone played through injury to win the MVP several times; kinda like Brent on the bands 2006 tour with Sullivan and Showbread. Rimmer has striking similarities to John Stockton. Smaller and seemingly more quiet but man, he could really lay up a fucking basketball. You’ve gotta respect him. Last but not least, McPeters would be a young Allen Iverson (before he joined a gang) “one of the top scorers in the NBA despite his relatively small size. Known to fans as The Answer, the 6-ft (1.83-m), 165-lb (75-kg) shooting guard has remarkable speed and agility that make him one of the best offensive and defensive players in the game.” - MSN Encarta.
So, take a listen. Its pretty much an all-star Starting Line-up cast, collect all 5 and that whole bit.
