Street Scene 2007 - The Hell Yahs

September 24th, 2007 · No Comments

Ahhh yes.. I love the day after syndrome coming back from a weekend music festival. Clogged nose, allergies from all the dust, sunburnt, hung over, ear ringing, trying to find focus after intense a.d.d all weekend. Although it sounds like I’m bitching, I’m flying pretty high that I attended San Diegos Street Scene this year. The line up was right up my alley - basically two days of back to back great music, beer and sun. So here we go Radiokills readers - my absolute Hell Yah’s (bands whom I would bear their children for) and Oh No’s ( bands who should only be performing in Grandma Daisies basement.)

HELL YAHS

Muse - Saturday night headling band. This performance goes down in my books as one of the best shows ever witnessed. The trio slammed it of the park. Panic at the Disco played before Muse - whom I thought did a great job (i’ll get more into them in a minute) but after experiencing Muse - Panic moved to the back seat along with the other Saturday bands. I knew it was going to be hard to get across how amazing they were in this blog - so I filmed a snippet for you guys…..amazing, just amazing……

Mute Math - I’ve seen these guys 4 times within the last year now. And each time they still blow my mind. I mean - the lead singer Paul Meany rocks a KEYTAR…who the hell rocks keytars now? But you know - he does a great job at multi- tasking between running around like a skitzo, knocking shit over, and wailing on the his keytar and mic ….and let us not forget he does all this while in business attire. If I ever get to own a big bad company - Paul… you’ll be the first on my list of hires. Oh right - and the show and music… besides the fact that they lost all their gear on the airplane and had to borrow Album Leafs gear. They put on an amazing amazing show, filled with energy.. and Darren King on drums knocked it out of the park with his duct tape and all. (Darren  takes out duct tape before everyshow and wraps it around his headphones and head because he’s that much of beast on drums..check it out)
