Buzz Artists of SXSW -

Every year I go to Austin for SXSW there’s always a handful of “buzz” bands that dangle off the tongues of all industry folk in town. It’s funny how quickly the revolving down spins. Anyways - here are some of those artists:

Duffy at Mercury Records Showcase - Number 1 record in the UK for five weeks in a row now. Amy Winehouse meets Zsa Zsa Gabor -

Justice - Okay so they’re more like the Buzz artist of 2008. They played the Playboy C3 party on Saturday night at 2:30am till close of the party. Reminded me of my raving days 7 years ago. Check out the clip -

Santegold - M.I.A move over - Downtown artist Santegold is here and ready to dance all over you. Just check out here SXSW performance below. The audio is a bit busted - but check out her dance crew.

MGMT - I don’t have a video of them because I think they suck. But besides what I think - they were the talk of the town and played at the coveted “Playboy party”. A good song to me has a hook. I don’t care if you’re a hip hop, metal, reggae, electronic, or rock back - no matter what you have a hook. After 3 drinks and a bathroom break - still no hook/no reason for me to jam out with my clam out. Check them out here and tell us what you think - MGMT
