I haven’t done much artwork in the past few years but tonight I decided to spend sometime doing something. I think maybe I’ve done one thing for “fun” in the past year, maybe only a couple others over the past three years since I stopped designing full time. I’d say I am going to get back into it but we’ll see..

Not only has You Tube taken a tad bit of thunder (and business) from professional producers and directors, but now new services are launching that can make our user generated content look pretty legit. Animoto lets you upload your pictures and music on their site. From there they’ll mash up all your pictures and create a pretty decent music video out of them. Cool part is - all the frames go with the music. The catch - 30 second shorts are free, but if you want a full length video it will cost you. I think they realize that their service fills a huge demand for a way to pimp out our ugc (without having to go into editing software)- and people are willing to pay for it.
Check out the Summer Time short I did….

I have always been somewhat up and down on this band. Their first record on FBR release had some good tracks and for a while i wasn’t into the second album Santi.. After a while it grew on me a bit though I never could get into the singers voice on that album, but they wrote really good songs.
This new record though seems to be right where they need to be. The singer seems to have found his voice and the band seems to have found the style that fits perfectly for them. Below is a track that I am digging. Enjoy.

I used to never understand pop-art. I guess I grew up in a conservative suburb where life is more of a bubble than real. Recently I have became a huge fan of pop art and specifically a fan of what a few different artists in London have been accomplishing.
Banksy is one such artist that I am really into. Banksy is a well revered graffiti artist in London, perhaps the most famous in the world. The article below describes him and his work as “To some a genius, to others a vandal. Always controversial, he inspires admiration and provokes outrage in equal measure” [The Daily Mail].
Banksys work is always controversial as well as creative, innovative and full of talent. He is worth checking out at his website below.
View Banksy’s website here
I will be publishing some other photographers and pop artists work here in the near future. I hope you enjoy.

As I was watching this You Tube video - I kept asking myself… is this chick for real? I even started chuckling a few times I thought she was so ridiculous. Then I scrolled down to the comments and saw everyone giving her mad props for her internship. Then I started to think - Am I just jaded? Everyone here at Radiokills has been in the music/tech industry for several years now and I have to say after awhile work is work and it’s easy to loose site on how cool your job is compared to all the real estate, accountant, finance jobs out there. Does being in LA and working in entertainment make one forget about the real reasons they started doing what they do? Like LOVE music? At the end of my 2 minute thought process, I actually become envious of this gal instead of laughing my ass off at her. She still has the passion and enthusiasm for music and the music business, which is admirable - but probably only because she doesn’t know how shitty it’s doing. lol.

Action, cars blowing up, people getting shot, robberies, dark scenery, clowns, and super heroes with ANNOYING scruffy voices are not usually my cup of tea when it comes to movies. BUT I can’t deny the dark knight. The entire movie was non stop from start to finish, never a boring conversational moment, everything said made sense and was relevant to the plot of the movie (as we all know, there’s tons of action movies with a lot of garbage in between to make the movie at least 1.5 hours long). Christian Bale was awesome - he was hot enough to be batman, but not hot enough to make him unbelievable. The only thing I hated about Bruce/Batdude was his damn voice when he became Batman. Does he seeeriously have to have a fake ass raspy voice? Come on Bruce, I think I know that sexy mouth when I see it, I know you’re batman and so does everyone else who loves you - so your voice isn’t going to hide anything…..sorry..I digress.
So back to the movie, Heath Ledger was amazing. The only scene where I really believed it was him was the part where he tried to shoot the Mayor during his speech and was disguised as a cop with no makeup. I got 5 bucks on Ledger winning an Oscar for this. Okay 10 bucks.
I didn’t like Katie Holmes in Batman Beyond - but I’ll take her any day over the new “Rachel”, Maggie Gyllenhall. Okay, I’m being mean - shes a good actress. But she’s really really ugly. Sorry I’m dissing your sister Jake. It is what it is. The leading lady, especially one being fought over between two successful hot men, should be a dime piece. Don’t read this next line if you haven’t watched the movie - but maybe that’s why she blew into pieces at the end.
Overall it was awesome. I can’t wait to see it again at an IMAX theater. I’m watching Gotham Knight now (the anime series that just came out on dvd. 6 episodes from different animators telling different stories of what happened between Batman Beyond and Dark Knight. ) I’ll let you know how this goes later.

I just started using Posterous.com to help me post blogs while I’m on the road and running around everywhere. Used it for the first time yesterday night while at HardLA festival. Overall I’m pretty impressed. Check out my link to the right under Jason’s Twitter. Posterous is pretty easy to use and actually allows someone to blog from their mobile phone and automatically post it online. I think twitter is cool - but it’s definately a novelty features, specifically because you only have 140 characters to work with and isn’t really considered a micro-blogging tool. Posterous is a micro - blogging tool because via your smart phone, someone just has to send their blog via email to post@posterous.com and the company will recognize it’s coming from your email and post your blog instantly to your posterous site. Even more impressive, you can send photos and music to post on your blog. Check out the ringtone I sent in to post@posterous.com as an attachment. The ringtone was posted on my posterous site through their own propriety audio player.
The company is new (from what I know so far) and still doesn’t have the ability for one to customize their site. If they got that straightened out and also allowed adversting on Posterous sites — then I’ll REALLY have an incentive to micro blog via their platform all the time. Either that or wordpress needs to figure this out - so that their bloggers (me) can easily add blogs via mobile, considering I find myself on my phone more then on the computer these days.
